68 individuals from ABCUL’s member credit unions across Scotland came together for a weekend of learning, sharing and socialising. Delegates had the opportunity to network and learn throughout the event and enjoyed workshops focused on the Senior Managers Regime, boosting their loan books and embedding highly effective cultures in their businesses.
ABCUL’s Chief Executive, Mark Lyonette, addressed members on Saturday morning and outlined the financial health of the sector, some key challenges facing credit unions and the services ABCUL is providing to its members to support them in meeting this challenge. The four CU Futures participants from Scottish credit unions also addressed the event and talked about their experiences of this development programme and the personal and business benefits they have realised so far.
ABCUL Head of Membership Services Rosanna Donovan spoke about the success of the day, Rosanna said: “It is wonderful that so many Scottish credit unions of all sizes came together to share their experiences and ideas. The spirit of co-operation was certainly alive in Troon and it’s great to see so many credit unions ready to share their knowledge and experience with each other. We are all stronger when we work together.”
